FIA Jobs

I don't think FIA needs an introduction. Jobs in FIA are sought after greatly by many. For each post, there are thousands of applicants. FIA announces jobs through FPSC (fpsc.gov.pk) and through other testing services such as OTS and ITS. Common posts announced include Assistant Director (investigation), Inspector (Investigation), ASI, SI, Corporal, and so on. Assistant Director is a BPS-17, INspector is BPS-16, and others are lower posts.

Although the number of posts announced is often in large numbers, the applicants are also in thousands. Inspector Investigation was last announced at the end of 2018 and the test was held in January 2019. The number of posts was 66 and the number of applicants was about 128000. The test was held in more than 10 batches.

Recruitment Process
The first step is a screening test of 100 MCQs. The second step is a descriptive test. The third step is the interview.
For certain posts, such as ASI, SI, and Corporal, a physical exam is held before the screening test. It is mandatory to pass the physical exam.
Shortlisting is done after each step in the screening test and descriptive test.

Paper Pattern (Syllabus)

The paper pattern for all posts is the same. This includes two parts.
Part I is English of 20 marks and Part II is general knowledge of 80 marks. There are a total of 100 MCQs in the screening test.
Part II includes basic arithmetic, current affairs, Pakistan affairs & Islamic studies, and everyday science. Each part in part II has equal weight.

The paper of Assistant Director Investigation also includes FIA Act 1974 in Part II. There are 15-17 questions from the Act.

Qualification

A 2nd Division or C-grade masters degree is required for AD investigation and Inspector investigation posts. This means anyone with a 16 years education can apply. It is a general type post.
