SUPARCO (Space and Upper Research Commission) is the organizations responsible for managing the space program and satellites of Pakistan. It often announces posts for executive level and lower staff. Executive posts start from Assistant Manager AM level. These include electronics, industrial electronics, electrical, mechanical, safety, accounts, finance, and so on. All of these are SPS-08 jobs with a starting salary of about 85,000 PKR.

The open positions are advertised in newspapers and applicants are required to apply online on smartcareers.pk. The complete application process is online. Once that is done, shortlisted candidates are issued call letters both by post and online for tests. On the test day, applicants are required to bring 200 PKR postal order. It can be purchased from any post office. Alternately, you can also pay in cash during the test.

Normally, 500 candidates are called for each post. The test for the posts is held in the city in which the position is open. For example, if the post being advertised is in Islamabad, the test will also be held in Islamabad. The advertisement clearly indicates the posting location. Once the test is conducted, they declare the test result date at the end of the test through an announcement. The test result is issued on the suparco.gov.pk. The result includes the names of candidates shortlisted for the next phase.

Once the result is announced, the website also announces dates of the second phase. The second phase is the psychometry or psychological test. It is conducted at the same center by a psychologist. Once that is done, interviews of candidates are conducted after a few months. The dates for interviews are announced on suparco.gov.pk and it is important to stay connected to the website. After the interviews, the selected candidates are issued security clearance forms for further processing. The forms require the selected candidates to fill the various forms, get them attested from police, attach documents and submit to SUPARCO office.

About 6 months later, if the security is cleared by the agencies, the candidate is called in for a medical. Once that is cleared, an offer letter is issued.

This whole process can take more than a year but it is worth it. SUPARCO provides its employees with an excellent career.
